Solving real life problems

Solving real life problems

A problem well stated is a problem half solved - Charles Kettering.

We have already learnt in Mathematics to solve any given problem. We state the problem statement first and try to solve it with the given constraints. In our real life too, the problem can be solved this way.

A clear cut problem statement is a must before you think it is a problem. Our mind does not work properly when it is tensed. So empty your mind and do  the following:

  1. Take a pen and list out all the issues you are having in a paper
  2. Sort them according to the impact it has upon you.
  3. Few will dissapear as soon as you complete your list.
  4. Go through each and ask yourself if it is a real problem. You know your constraints right? If nothing can be done then that is not your problem, strike them out, because it's no use worrying.
  5. Now you have a proper list of problems you can solve. Problem which can be solved is not a problem at all because it will disappear from the list soon. :)
Definitely, human mind is the source of problem and it's solution too. One who can control her/his mind is the most powerful human. If you think the Universe has imposed upon you all its problem then take it, list it , face it and solve it if it were a Mathematical equation. And one day comes, the Universe stops imposing problems upon you.

the god of small things

Small things make you happy

Small things have been always important in my life.A little smile, a little pain, a little joy are the moments that makes my life feel alive.

Since everything in the life is ephemeral we shall not go for big things; it creates high ambitions and ultimately you remain unhappy. For me a smile is better than a bliss,an improvement is better than a success, a fall is better than failure, a cry is better than an anguish, a disappointment is better than a despair; I like the miniature version of things because they are the quantum of our life. The novelty of life depends upon these things. we can handle these things easily and we can miss them very often without tormenting our life.If u desire more happiness then more sadness come with it but a desire for a smile brings you only a little pain which doesn't last long.

Every moment of our life is filled with one or more forms of happiness or sadness, success or failure, pain or pleasure, pessimism or optimism, expectation or desperation , and much more combinations of similar kinds of ordered pairs. life is complex and intricate but it's simple if we take it simple. If the small things are considered to be the parts of life then life becomes simple.

OPTIMISM

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” One of Winston Churchill’s most famous quotes suggests that optimists and pessimists have fundamentally different ways of interpreting the world. Recent research indicates that optimists and pessimists approach problems differently, and their ability to cope successfully with adversity differs as a result. Martin Seligman defines optimism as reacting to problems with a sense of confidence and high personal ability. Specifically, optimistic people believe that negative events are temporary, limited in scope (instead of pervading every aspect of a person’s life), and manageable. Of course, optimism, like other psychological states and characteristics, exists on a continuum. People can also change their levels of optimism depending on the situations they are in.

Here are 8 ways to overcome pessimism and be an optimist:

1. Find a cause you believe in

A cause from the depth of your heart has a burning flame that can overcome any pessimism. A superficial cause won’t last long, but a cause you believe in will give you the strength to overcome any obstacles. So find yours. Find a cause that matters to you, a cause you believe in.

2. Focus on the possibilities, not the impossibilities

People become pessimistic when they focus their mind on the impossibilities. All they see is the enormity of the challenges ahead. That way, their mind is overwhelmed by the difficulties and they can no longer see themselves as the winners.

So focus your mind instead on the possibilities. See how you are able to overcome the difficulties. See how you can go through all these and be victorious.

3. Read inspiring stories

To help you focus on the possibilities, you should read inspiring stories of the people who have made it before you. It will inspire you since you know that other people can do it despite the challenges they face. Just like you, they also face enormous difficulties, but they persist and achieve their dream. So you can too.

Here are some figures you might want to read about for inspiration: the Wright brothers, Sir Edmund Hillary,Sir Winston Churchill,Thomas Edison,Abraham Lincoln.

4. Be part of a team

It’s difficult to face everything alone. In fact, most people can never make it that way. You always need someone to lift you up when you fall. By having a team, their flame can ignite yours when you need it, and in turn, your flame can ignite theirs when they need it.

5. Connect to your cause

Sometimes we are too busy dealing with difficulties that we no longer remember why we do it in the first place. So you should have time to connect to your cause. Have some time to think about your cause and why it’s important. Let your cause inspire you and light up your fire once again. Let it reminds you of all the difference you will make if you go through all these.

6. Connect to your spiritual power source

Our strength is limited, so you need other sources of power. While your cause and friends can give you some power, a great source of power is spiritual source. By praying or meditating, you connect to a supernatural force that can give you the strength you need. For many people, this is the strongest power source.

7. Get rid of negative words

Nothing takes your optimism away faster than negative words. So get rid of them at all costs. Always see the positive side of things, and speak about hope and possibilities. I don’t know about you, but I believe that there is always positive side in everything we face. This doesn’t mean that you are denying the reality; you just look at it from a different angle.

8. Open your mind for unexpected ways

One reason people becomes pessimist is they see all the possible ways in their mind closed. Since they can no longer see any open door, they become pessimistic. But things don’t have to go the way you want it for you to succeed. The solution can come in unpredicted ways that never occur to you before.

So open your mind for such unexpectedness. Let new things happen and solve the problems. If you have this mindset, you will always have a reserve of optimism at hand.

the Pursuit of Happiness

There is no one in this world who doesn't want to be happy. Every single living being wants to be happy. Happiness is the sole purpose of our life. everyone is in the search of it. Can we search it?
There is an illusion that happiness is that we can get from outside. Happiness is different from being successful or being loved. we think that when we become successful or affluent we become happy. Achieving something doesn't create happiness. Happiness lies within us but not outside.

Happiness is like accepting what we are. It is liking what we get. To become happy one needs to be satisfied with own-self. It is difficult for human to be bring satisfaction. Their desires are the greatest enemy of their happiness. The more you desire or expect from our life the more sad you will be. One should learn to become happy. Since the happiness doesn't come from outside, the learning wholly depends on you. your thinking, your feelings, your attitudes, all are the factors that can create happiness from within.

T

words laden with meaning!

When you expect from someone first ensure that he/she accepts you and is expecting something from you. If you care somebody more than anyone and they don't do in return then it implicitly tells that they are not happy with you.

Everybody has heard that "love hurts" . It's not the love that hurts. love is always pleasant to our soul. It is our expectation that overwhelms the love. We expect much form other and go on expecting unless we are disappointed. This is not the love in true sense.

The Bible says:

“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.”

You are apparently hurted if you love the earthly things. The earthly things are mortal. They exist today and no one knows whether they will exist tomorrow. Loving such things will certainly hurt you because one day they vanish without noticing. So please don't expect too much from the mortal things.
